YES! WeCAN!
This year the Watauga Crisis Assistance Network (WeCAN) observes its tenth year of helping community neighbors in crisis. Conceived, organized and funded by the faith community in 2002, WeCAN serves as a clearing house of benevolence assistance and crisis services for Watauga County residents.

Home Sweet Home
We've finally moved into the new shelter! Residents and staff are settling in nicely and we're so grateful to everyone who has supported us throughout this process.
Let's Move!
We're getting very close to move-in day. Take a look at the latest construction progress.
We are very excited to be able to offer those expirencing crisis and homelessness a new, safe place to stay while they begin the process of rebuilding their lives. As we move ahead, we remember why we took on this project in 2008.
Thank you for your support as we begin a new chapter in the life of Hospitality House.
Focus turns indoors
After more than 12 months, the shelter project is nearing completion. With the attention turned inside, crews are making tremendous progress. The parking area was finished mid-November and landscaping is coming along nicely. Crews are currently installing gypsum board in the ceiling which will be followed by foam insulation. Paint crews will move in once the ceiling is complete, followed by cabinets, windows and flooring.
More than halfway complete
The shelter is more than halfway complete and everyone is hard at work keeping the process on track. The facade is nearly complete and the focus has turned to the inside. Check out our photo gallery or drive by the site to see the progress for yourself!
We're raising the roof
The roof is going up and we are thrilled. Crews expect to have the facility completely under roof within a few short weeks. Stop by and see the progress for yourself.
We have walls
Crews are making great progress at the new shelter site. The walls are completed and now they are moving on to roofing. Stop by and see it for yourself!
May and June
May and June were busy months and the weather was cooperative. Crews finished pouring footings, laid brick for the foundation and completed the preparation for plumbing.
The Future of Hospitality House
Hospitality House broke ground in September 2009 at the site of the new facility on Brook Hollow Road in Boone. Since then, crews have been working hard to make progress on the building. With severe winter weather, we were delayed but are now back at work! Check out our photo gallery.
